Version 0.93 improves component
value estimation for inductors and capacitors. Versions
prior to 0.93 were good but 0.93 is getting near the
limits of a standard sound card (for components within
its rather limited range).
In preparation for the release,
I tested two 1.5mH inductors. One of them, clearly taped
up and labeled 1.5 was measuring as 1.5mH. The other,
fresh from the factory and labeled 1.50, was measuring
1.77mH. I don't have a good impedance meter so after
scratching my head about this I did something smarter.
I built a parallel circuit using each inductor in turn
with a known 30uF capacitor. It was labeled 30uF and
measured exactly that (so there is some error possible).
I then created a signal and
did two Measure / Impedance tests. Here's a view of
the two. The red curve shows the resonance peak for
the 1.5 factory inductor.
