  Speaker Workshop
changes for version 0.90

What version 0.90 adds is a number of new things.

First, and most obvious, the enclosure view and driver view now have tabular information (text) describing the enclosure/driver. This makes it much more informative without needing to pull up Properties. It can also be printed for a hardcopy snapshot of the resource.

Next, channel definitions were seriously tightened up. It is very important that you ensure that your left and right channels are correctly connected. When you do an impedance jig measurement just check the values in the VU meter for the right and left channels. The left channel should be the larger of the two. The right channel gets divided by the resistors while the left channel is reference. Once you are sure the channels are right perform a channel calibration and save the results.

Finally, after a lot of research it turned out that the startup issues for the sound card were seriously compromising readings with 1 sample. I have added a "warmup" time to the MLS reading. This time is stored in the Debug section of the Options / Preferences dialog. It should not need to be changed by the end user, but the value is the number of samples to "warm up" the sound card. A low level sine wave is sent out for that short time before the actual data is sent. This dramatically improves the measurement quality, especially for single-sample readings (such as you would use with acoustic testing) and even the multi-sample readings are improved.
