Woofer Final Test

The free air and added mass impedance test are now done and it's time to evaluate the results and start prototyping.

To evaluate the results, just open up the driver and select Driver / Estimate parameters again. I use a frequency range of 10Hz to 10000Hz for the evaluation. The low end is high enough to avoid all those zero phase crossings, the high end is low enough to avoid all the high frequency noise in the impedance readings. The low end includes both sides of the resonant hump while the high end includes much of the inductive rise in impedance - thus producing good results.

Make sure you set the added mass (in the data tab of the driver properties) correctly. Also set the piston area correctly for appropriate results.

After retesting everything I get the following results. The Compliance is less than spec.

These results are good enough to proceed with (and somewhat close to the quoted specs, even).

By the way, here's my current tree structure

Now it's time to prototype the enclosure.
